During his missionary ‘Journey on Truth’s Account Through Kent, Sussex and the Skirt of Surrey’, on 2nd October 1672 William Penn visited Patchgate (just north of Cowfold), home of Thomas Parsons, where he also met Quaker Ambrose Rigg and journeyed with him to Horsham (see above).
